Made by the renowned Sampson Mordan & Co. of London circa 1890, this lovely quality piece is beautifully decorated with fine machine-turned engraving and features a vacant cartouche ready for personal engraving.
Both feminine and practical, the pen is cleverly crafted in a telescopic portable design. The two-piece tube separates to reveal the nib inside; the lower section then fits onto the top to create a full-length writing instrument. When finished writing, the pen neatly reassembles into its compact form, ready to slip into a purse or pocket for travel.
Discovered with its original Perry & Co., London nib still in place, this wonderful collector’s piece remains fully functional and ready to write with today.

MARKS: Not marked for metal content; acid tested and confirmed solid sterling silver throughout. The pen is stamped “S. Mordan & Co” and the nib “Perry & Co., London” along with a model name and number.
WEIGHT: 9.2 grams
DATE: Victorian, circa 1890
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Note any yellow areas are reflections, the pen is silver with no gold tones. There are a couple of small, minor depressions in the silver from handling — charming evidence that this piece was used and cherished over the years.
