A wonderfully elegant 9ct rose gold English equestrian stock pin hailing from the Edwardian era and still residing in its original fitted box, what a treat!
Rendered in a stylish marquise shape the pin is set with a 1/2 carat oval opal in a rubbed over setting. The opal is open backed with a pretty play of color. The pin is hallmarked "9CT" on the side and measures 2" long (52mm) and weighs 1.6 grams.
Circa 1900 it is excellent antique condition with a sturdy curved pin stem and a safety pin style clasp. The blue box from W.A.Willis & Co., Darlington is in good antique condition with expected signs of age, it closes with a satisfying snap and will safely store this lovely stock pin for many moons to come.
Perfect for the well dressed equestrian, dapper dandy and wedding groom, it would make a delightful gift for the horse lover too.
