A super quality and rare antique sterling silver posy holder brooch pin made by American company Codding Brothers & Heilborn who were founded 1862 and ceased business in 1918.
The brooch is solidly constructed and generously sized with a nice high arch and substantial spike. It is beautifully decorated in an Art Nouveau etched pattern with engraved flourishes at the ends and there's a vacant cartouche in the centre which you could chose to have engraved in a monogram for a personal touch.
According to the makers "a Gentleman would snip a posy, stab its stem and pin on his lapel" and this solidly made elegant piece is perfect to attach those beautiful wedding buttonholes and corsages. You might even be tempted to cut a fresh sprig from the garden and wear fresh flowers everyday!
Very collectible and good for both for the ladies and gents, this fabulous antique silver accessory will be a special gift for the groom, an everlasting keepsake!
