An especially rare and ephemeral Georgian era gold fob whose turquoise glass intaglio seal is carved with an image of a scroll and Latin letters 'UXL' We can't help but wonder about the origin of such a piece, perhaps it is a symbol of a secret society!
The gleaming fob body is crafted in pale yellow solid 9 carat gold, and beautifully adorned in deep floral carving along with a crown motif. It is quite a dainty feminine size so we can't help but think this was one made for the ladies. The opaque glass Tassie seal is firmly set in a turreted gallery bezel and it's the most vibrant turquoise blue colour.
Absolutely charming and with so much history to explore this very collectable piece was once worn on a watch or chatelaine chain but she's now a pendant which you can wear and adore!

CONDITION: in excellent antique condition with minor signs of wear and use as to be expected, the intaglio is free of chips and cracks and turns out a beautifully well defined impression. Please note the chain is not included with purchase.
