A beautiful pair of 9ct gold antique Victorian earrings in a classic Etruscan/Neoclassical revival design.
The earrings are a fairly large size and feature oval drops decorated in a scroll and bead design with a turreted border framing the little shell cameos that nestle in the centre. They have large sized gold ear wires that are accented in gold beads and they have catches to fasten them securely.
The gold ear wires are possibly later replacements. They are a fairly large with a heavy gauge construction and Victorian hooks tend to be a lot more delicate. If they are replacements they have been beautifully done and are completely in keeping with the style of the earrings as well as being practical and hard wearing.
Robust enough for everyday wear these lovely antique statement earrings are a perfect example of Victorian jewellery trends that harked back to ancient times.

CONDITION: in very, very good condition with just the light surface wear you'd expect to find in an antique pair of earrings. The hooks fasten securely.
