A charming Victorian sterling silver oval brooch. Dating to the British aesthetic era the brooch features a cut out silver Japanese water scene complete with a wading crane, bulrushes and grasses. Lovely detailing in the scene with beautifully realistic engraving and texturizing. The outer edge of the brooch adds to the delightful decoration with a turreted frame and silver bead trim.
A sturdy pin back with a C-clasp completes this lovely antique brooch, iconic of the aesthetic movement and very collectible!
