This exquisite 9ct gold example was made in 1972 in London by Fred Manshaw Ltd. Manfred Durst, a founding member of Fred Manshaw, was among the children rescued from persecution in World War II through Britain’s Kindertransport programme. Overcoming a challenging start, he established himself as a talented jeweller in London’s Hatton Garden.
The ring is nice and wide and engraved in a bold scrolling floral pattern, very much in the Art Nouveau style that enjoyed a revival in the 1970s.
A beautiful statement ring and over half a century old, buckle rings look stylish and attractive worn on any finger and they make for a distinctive and meaningful wedding band.

HALLMARKS: stamped inside '9.375' for 9ct gold, 'leopard head' for London, date letter 'r' for 1972 and a worn 'FM' inside a heart shaped stamp
