
An extraordinary 1930s Art Deco black Bakelite or Galalith pendant necklace. At 30" long the necklace has carved beads and a very large carved pendant set with a bronze metal plaque showing a classical Greek god scene depicting Venus, Mercury, Cupid and two other nude figures.
The beads are hand knotted on strong necklace cord and it fastens with a gold metal fish hook clasp. A fabulous "archaeological revival" Art Deco statement necklace!

MEASUREMENTS: 30" (76cm) long, beads 10mm diameter, pendant 3-1/2" (9cm) tall including the carved bale and 2-1/8" (5.5cm) wide
DATE: At Deco, circa 1930
CONDITION: in very good vintage condition with wear commensurate with age, there is light crazing to the beads that is only really noticeable under close magnification and the clasp in perfect working order.
