A bold and striking vintage 1930s Art Deco Malachite gemstone bead necklace that is absolutely divine!
At a sassy 23 inches (59cm) long this luxurious necklace has 47 distinctive graduated beads displaying a remarkable variety of light and dark green banding and swirls throughout. The central Malachite bead is beautifully unique too, it resembles crackled marble and creates an eye-catching focal point to the necklace.
The carved spherical malachite stones are beautifully polished with a glossy lustre and no two are identical in either shape, size or markings. They are separated by pairs of tiny bright green Vaseline glass spacer beads. The necklace is strung on multifilament nylon cord giving it strength and durability and it fastens with a discreet gold tone screw barrel clasp.
The Malachite beads graduate in size from 13.5mm to 6mm, they are cold to the touch and have been tested using a Presidium Gem Tester. The necklace weighs 87 grams.
This vintage Malachite necklace is in very, very good vintage condition with expected light wear but nothing untoward. The beads do have natural imperfections as expected in soft stones that are earth mined.
