A beautiful, super quality vintage English sterling silver locket hallmarked in 1977.
Edwardian in style the locket is a slender oval in shape with an elegant fan shaped fluted bale. The front is engraved in a pretty floral flourish pattern with a zig-zag border and the back is left smooth.
The locket opens from the side to reveal two compartments for precious photos, the picture rings are fixed in place so your photos simply tuck behind them.
A elegant and classic vintage English locket in a generous medium size that will accommodate good sized photos. It is in very good condition with light surface scratches and a slight dimple in the back where it has been opened and closed over the years. The hinge is solid and it closes tightly with a firm click.

MEASUREMENTS: The locket measures 1-3/4" (4.5mm) tall measured with the bale, a tad under 1" (2.5cm) wide. Photo compartments are approx. 25x15mm. The chain is 18" (46cm), we also have these chains available in a 16" length if you are looking a shorter necklace.

HALLMARKS: Locket stamped 'lion passant' for sterling. 'anchor' for Birmingham, date letter 'c' for 1977 and makers mark 'CPS' for CPS Jewellery Co Ltd' who were located in Birmingham's historic jewellery quarter. The chain is stamped '925'
