Superb quality, as you would expect, this vintage Harrods bangle bracelet is beautifully crafted in heavy gauge sterling silver and hallmarked for 1968.
Edwardian/Art Nouveau in style this is a fairly wide bracelet with a gentle D-profile. It is engraved on the front in irises with the back left plain. It is crafted on the oval for comfort and it has an engraved push in clasp along with a safety chain. The silver is thick gauge, not thin and hollow, and it is stamped on the inside 'Excalibur' for Excalibur Jewellery of Hatton Garden, London, a company that made jewellery exclusively for Harrods of London.
The bracelet is in wonderful condition beautifully polished (any dark areas are camera shadow) with no dents or dings and the hinge and clasp in perfect working order closing with a solid snap.
Classically English this type of bracelet has been popular since Victorian times, they were a popular jewellery gift for sweethearts and wives and were often personalized with engraved names on the plain back or inside.
