This exquisite vintage sterling silver locket necklace hails from the 1970's and is beautiful quality as you would expect in an Andreas Daub piece. The company was established in Pforzheim, Germany in 1872 and is still crafting fine quality jewellery today.
Legendary watch chains, Art Nouveau collections, as well as the production of the first rolled gold jewellery in Germany shaped the first decades of the company whose antique and vintage pieces have become very collectable!
Very much in the Edwardian/Art Nouveau style that saw a revival in the 70s the locket is fairly large and mirror polished. The front is engraved in a beautiful bright cut lily flower framed in a zig zag border. The locket closes with the aid of a little silver tab on the side and a generous fan shaped bale and classic curb chain complete this lovely necklace.
The locket opens from the side to reveal two stations for photographs along with the original silver frames, Perspex glass covers and fabric liners. The picture frames are a perfect fit and flip out effortlessly with your fingernail so it will be a breeze to insert your photos or other precious keepsakes.
An absolutely gorgeous 50 year old all original locket necklace in remarkable condition with only the lightest of faint surface scratches, the hinge in perfect order and the locket closing properly. Please see the photos and disregard any dark spots, the locket is highly reflective and difficult to photograph without capturing shadows!
