An enchanting and expressive piece, this vintage sterling silver convertible pendant is beautifully modelled as a botanic water lily leaf, its surface alive with finely detailed veining and an organic, sculptural texture. Suspended beneath, a luminous freshwater pearl gently sways adding a lovely movement when worn.
Crafted in solid sterling silver and stamped ‘925’ to the reverse alongside an unidentified maker’s mark, this is a well-made vintage studio piece dating to the mid–late 20th century. While not of the Art Nouveau period, it clearly draws inspiration from that movement’s celebration of nature, with its flowing lines and organic form. There is a wonderful tactility to this piece, a hand-wrought feel that gives the piece real character and sets it apart from mass-produced jewellery.
Thoughtfully designed, it can be worn either as a brooch, or as a pendant, suspended from the accompanying new fine sterling silver chain. The chain is adjustable allowing it to sit perfectly against different necklines.
