This wonderful quality Victorian sterling silver brooch is fashioned as a beautifully detailed horseshoe and whip. Constructed in 2 parts, the whip features silver beaded wire wrapped around the handle and it is pegged to the horseshoe which adds even more dimension to this lovely antique piece.
Steeped in Victorian symbolism, horseshoes were a widely popular jewellery motif bestowing good luck and protection. The brooch is in very, very good antique condition with light surface wear as you might expect given age. It has a sturdy pin fastener with a tubular hinge and c-clasp that are in perfect working order.
