A fantastic sterling silver antique fob chain and drop, full of character in a hard to find style! Superb quality crafted in thick sterling silver the chain features "brick" design links. The T-bar is inserted through a button-hole and the chain suspends on the front of the jacket or waistcoat, the fob drop which is attached to a dog clip can be left hanging or tucked into the pocket.
The chain currently has a "Prince of Wales feathers" fob drop attached. The Prince of Wales's feathers is the heraldic badge of the Prince of Wales, the heir to the British throne. The badge consists of three ostrich feathers encircled by a coronet. A ribbon below the coronet bears the German motto Ich dien, ("I serve"). As well as being used in royal heraldry, the feathers are sometimes used to symbolise Wales, particularly in Welsh rugby union and Welsh regiments of the British Army.
The fob drop can be removed and replaced with your own, a pocket watch or even a wax seal... there are endless possibilities, such a versatile piece! Unfortunately, it is slightly too short to wear as a bracelet.
This heavy quality chain remains in very, very good condition showing just light surface wear and signs of age that you'd expect in an antique piece. The clip is in good working order fastening securely. A fabulous example of its type and a fine collectors piece.

HALLMARKS: stamped 'SS' for sterling silver on the clip, worn 'sterling' mark on the T-bar. We have tested to confirm that it is sterling throughout
