A lovely delicate antique Victorian sterling silver pendant necklace set with a little cabochon of Scottish black and white banded agate. The pretty feminine silver setting features a bow at the top topped in a V-shaped bale and the pendant suspends from an antique fine chain in silver that fastens with a tube clasp.
The necklace is in lovely antique condition showing just gentle wear and no noted flaws. The clasp works as it should and fastens securely. A charming way to connect yourself with Victorian fashion and ready to wear right out of the box!
All varieties of Scottish chalcedony were very popular in Victorian jewellery. When Queen Victoria bought Balmoral Castle in Scotland she set off a "Scottish Pebble" craze which caused the jewellery to become collectable and it still remains that way today!
