A fantastic antique Victorian 'ALBO SILVER' Albert watch-chain. Albo was a trademark used by N C Reading & Co., Birmingham for its range of durable watch chains which were made of a nickel, zinc and copper core clad in silver (and gold).
This silver coloured watch-chain - identical examples of which can be found on their original show card in the British Museum (see photo) - is particularly decorative. Composed of heavy round trace links and hollow-stamped fancy ornamental links it terminates in a pre-requisite swivel clip at one end and a nice long T-bar at the other.
A real statement piece and a fab way to connect yourself with early 20th century fashion!

MARKS: stamped 'ALBO' and 'NCR Co. REG' (N.C. Reading & Co. registered) on the T-bar

CONDITION: in very good antique condition, has been professionally polished, some aged patina remains.
