Fully hallmarked for 1880 this charming Victorian sweetheart brooch is fashioned as a lucky horseshoe and is made from sterling silver with rose and yellow gold overlay floral accents.
Finely detailed with intricate engraving and a decorative beading this classic Victorian love token will sit pretty pinned anywhere. In good antique condition with age appropriate wear, this is a hollow piece so the back in particular shows wear & tear and a few dings but at 145 years old we think this old lady can be excused!
A charming symbolic accent accessory good for the gents or ladies and a classic good luck token, fabulous for the equestrian! Perhaps this lovely piece was once worn by Victorian bride on her wedding day, horseshoes are associated with fertility and have traditionally been worn or carried by brides on their wedding days for generations.
