Hallmarked for London in 1976 this extraordinary cocktail ring boasts a huge 30 carat Smoky Quartz gemstone. Beautifully faceted in a perfectly plump oval the Scottish gemstone is a sophisticated golden warm brown pale with tiny feathery inclusions deep within adding to its unique decorative appeal. Crafted in sterling silver the Art Nouveau inspired design is on a grandiose scale. The gemstone is held high off the finger in a very tall incredibly ornate gallery with a multitude of claws holding it safe and snug. The shoulders are decorated in scrollwork and beaded accents.
A ravishing and monumental mid-century cocktail ring, not for the Shrinking Violet, this ring has an overabundance of character and massive presence!
