This super quality vintage English sterling silver Edwardian style locket is hallmarked for 1979 and engraved on the front in a gorgeous fern flourish design with zig-zag and cross-hatched accents.
The locket is a chubby oval shape with an elegant fan shaped fluted bale and it opens from the side to reveal two compartments for precious photos.

A elegant and classic vintage English locket in a generous medium size that will accommodate good sized photos. It is in excellent vintage condition with light surface wear as you might expect in a piece this age. The hinge is unworn it closes tightly with a solid click.
MATERIALS: Sterling silver
MEASUREMENTS: The locket measures 1-5/8" (4mm) tall measured with the bale and 1" (2.5cm) wide. Photo compartments are approx. 22x18mm. The chain is 18" (46cm), we also have these chains available in a 16" length if you are looking a shorter necklace.

HALLMARKS: back of the locket stamped 'lion passant' for sterling. 'anchor' for Birmingham, date letter 'e' for 1979 and makers mark 'JAM' for J.A. Main Ltd. a manufacturing jewellers who were located in Birmingham's historic jewellery quarter. Locket also stamped with a lion passant in the inside front. The chain is stamped '925'
