Highly collectible and heirloom worthy this marvelous vintage kilt pin by Scottish silversmith Robert Allison depicts the beautiful Scottish Sword of State, a ceremonial sword that was gifted to King James IV of Scotland in 1507 by Pope Julius II. The sword now resides in Edinburgh Castle along with the rest of the Scottish Royal Jewels.
Bearing full Edinburgh hallmarks for the year 1968 this is a quality piece crafted in heavy gauge silver with lovely attention to detail. It is oxidised in the recesses and polished on the high points allowing the design to really pop. The reverse has a heavy duty pin fastener with a roll over safety clasp that will accommodate thick fabrics and tartans with ease.
Good for him or her this striking piece of traditional Scottish dress jewellery would make a perfect statement brooch worn on the lapel, chunky sweater or hat!
