A super pair of vintage 1940s Native American Zuni "Petit Point" sterling silver and Turquoise cluster earrings.
Hand wrought the silver faces of the earrings are composed of square panels that are bezel set in a carpet of tiny hand-cut Turquoise stones accented by twisted rope trim which adds to the delicate intricacy. The silver is oxidised to provide a black patination which creates a very attractive contrast to the bright blue of the Turquoise. This silver finish along with the tiny hand cut stones is characteristic of old Zuni petit point jewellery.
The earrings are finished in silver screw back fittings that tighten perfectly for a secure and comfortable fit. The earring faces measure 5/8" (1.5cm) square and they weigh 6.8 grams in total. They are stamped 'Sterling' on the screws and are in excellent vintage condition.
