A classic antique sterling silver Scottish claymore sword brooch dating to around 1920. Set within the pierced basket hilt is a glowing smoky yellow-brown quartz, traditionally known in Scotland as a "Cairngorm" - the name long given to the distinctive varieties of quartz once found in the Cairngorm Mountains.
Beautifully engraved from hilt to tip, the brooch faithfully captures the form of the iconic basket-hilted claymore, one of Scotland's most enduring national symbols. The reverse is fitted with a sturdy flag-style pin and traditional C-clasp, both in excellent working order.
Steeped in Scottish heritage, this is a wonderful collectible piece, equally suited to Highland dress, a Scottish jewellery collection, or as a meaningful gift with Celtic roots.
