Compact yet beautifully detailed, this antique Victorian sterling silver concealed locket brooch is a wonderful example of Aesthetic Movement design, dating to around 1880. The circular brooch is in a beautiful domed form and richly embossed with a raised six-pointed star surrounded by intricate beadwork and geometric ornamentation.
Hidden behind the brooch is a secret locket compartment designed to hold a lock of hair, photograph or other cherished keepsake. The deep compartment has a removeable silver frame with a Perspex cover and a black silk liner. The fitted frame removes easily using your fingernail if you wish to personalise it with your own special memento.
Elegant and wonderfully wearable, this versatile Victorian brooch looks equally at home pinned to a jacket lapel, scarf, blouse or crisp white shirt.
