A fine quality 18th Century intaglio fob crafted in solid 15ct gold. The base is set with a citrine stone seal on the bottom engraved in the sentiment " To Live & Die For What I Love" The citrine is a rich mustard yellow colour with the gem displaying lots of natural inclusions and a foiled back.
The fob itself is an impressive size and delightfully decorative with the the gold carved and embossed in a characteristic Georgian pattern of flowers and foliage. Originally worn on pocket watch or chatelaine chains these gorgeous high quality fobs make for unique antique pendants and can still be used to seal letters with wax, extremely collectable!
This fob is in excellent antique condition with expected signs wear and age but no real flaws. The intaglio is damage free and the intaglio impression turns out a well defined seal. There is minimal wearing away of the gold embossing with the intricate detailing still lovely and crisp.
