A very pretty and delicate antique Scottish silver brooch showcasing a striking slice of orange banded translucent agate. The elegant stone is a flat oval with a faceted rim and it is set into a silver bezel with a frilled edge bordered with silver wire work.
A long pin back with a t-hinge and c-clasp completes this lovely brooch that is likely quite an early piece judging by the delicacy of the setting, it would have suited the fashionable lightweight floral silk gowns of the Regency, early Victorian romantic period.
