A very sweet little antique sterling silver brooch dating to the Victorian Aesthetic era circa 1880. The brooch is crafted as a Bottony or Botonny heraldic cross which is a beautiful cross shape with trefoils at the end of each arm representing the Holy Trinity.
The front of the brooch is beautifully hand engraved in an ornate Renaissance style pattern and it is gently pillowed (so it is hollow). It is in very good condition with expected light surface wear and a little tarnish in keeping with age, the engraving is still lovely and crisp and the pin back is in perfect working order.
A charming and unique piece of Victorian devotional jewellery and a stylish silver accent accessory, good for the gents and the ladies!
