A charming vintage 1940's American sweetheart locket made in 12ct gold filled sterling silver. The front of the locket features a mother-of-pearl oval shaped panel set in a flag & torch insignia (United States Signal Corps.).
The locket features a pretty open-work scalloped border around the edge and a fan-shaped bale at the top. The reverse is engraved in a decorative machine turned pattern. The back of the locket opens to reveal a photo of a handsome young man on one side and an empty station at the other. These can be replaced with your own photos if desired, both of the original picture rings and hard plastic photo covers are still present.
We have added a new gold vermeil (gold-plated sterling silver) chain so this little treasure is ready to wear right out of the box. A charming example of patriotic American sweetheart jewellery from the World War II era!
