A fabulously rare 1950s German sterling silver souvenir bracelet by REU, beautifully decorated with six colourful enamel panels depicting wildlife and iconic landmarks from southern Africa.
Made in substantial, heavy-gauge sterling silver, the bracelet has six individually shaped panels, each richly decorated with a colourful pictorial enamel scene. The panels depict a giraffe, Birchenough Bridge, Matopo Rocks, Victoria Falls, the Flame Lily and an elephant, creating a wonderfully nostalgic miniature travel souvenir from the golden age of mid-century tourism.
The enamel work is particularly charming, with each scene incorporating vivid blues, greens, pinks and earthy tones against a softly painted sky. The original lettering identifying each scene remains beautifully clear.
The bracelet is exceptionally well constructed, with substantial articulated silver links between each panel and a secure hinged fold-over clasp. The reverse of every panel is individually stamped "STERLING 925 REU", confirming the sterling silver construction and German manufacture.
A wonderful example of mid-century souvenir jewellery, combining quality sterling silver construction with colourful pictorial enamel work and a fascinating sense of travel and adventure. Rare, highly decorative and wonderfully retro, this is a distinctive statement bracelet with genuine vintage character.

CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with only minimal surface wear commensurate with age and use. The enamel remains bright, colourful and remarkably well preserved, with no noted enamel loss. The silver has some light surface marks consistent with age but remains substantial and attractive. The hinged fold-over clasp is in excellent working order and fastens securely.
