A beautifully detailed mid-century Scottish brooch featuring an embossed thistle design centred by a richly coloured faceted glass cairngorm-style stone in a high crown setting. Traditionally worn with Highland dress, these larger brooches were often used to secure a tartan fly plaid to the shoulder.
Crafted in silver-plated metal, the finish remains remarkably bright with only minimal wear, giving the appearance of solid silver. The reverse is stamped "Made in Gt. Britain" and fitted with its original pin back, T-hinge, C-clasp, and decorative safety chain and pin.
A striking example of traditional Scottish jewellery, equally suited to Highland dress, historical costume, Scottish-themed weddings, or collectors of vintage Celtic and Scottish pieces.
