A charming antique Edwardian sterling silver baby brooch dating to 1904, fully hallmarked for Birmingham.
Beautifully crafted in an elongated oval form, this sweet little brooch is delicately engraved with floral motifs and the word “BABY” in raised lettering at the centre. The ends are finished with elegant hand-engraved detailing, giving the piece a refined decorative balance typical of Edwardian silverwork.
The reverse retains its original safety pin style fastener, characteristic of traditional baby pins from the period.
Steeped in personal symbolism these charming brooches were popular Victorian and Edwardian gifts given to celebrate a baby's birth or christening.
