A super quality sterling silver goldstone brooch hallmarked for silversmiths Paul Edward Bunn in 1989. Goldstone is a type of glass invented in the 17th century in Murano, Italy. Copper particles are added to molten glass which gives this striking stone its shimmering orange-brown colour and twinkling gold flecks.
The oval goldstone is mounted in a very decorative silver setting with a beautiful crown gallery framed by a 'barley sugar' twist border. A classic Scottish style statement brooch design that has been around since Victorian times.
Also known as aventurine glass, goldstone is often associated with ambition, vitality, and positive energy!
